Hunting Coues Whitetail Deer with PL Holehan’s Gone Huntin’ Outfitters takes you to the beautiful mountains of Sonora Mexico. The hunt takes place anywhere between 3,000 and 7,000 feet of elevation. You will find settings on the desert floor covered with saguaro, prickly pear, cholla, palo verde, and mesquite. On the upper elevation, you will find the hills and mountains scattered with oak, manzanitas, juniper, and pinion. In addition to Coues Whitetail, you may see Javalina, Coyote, Bobcat, Grey Fox, Coatimundi, and perhaps a Mountain Lion as well. Don’t be surprised if you flush Gambles, Elegant, or Mearns Quail.

You need to bring clothing you can layer as temperatures vary from the mid-20s to the 80s. Because shots can be long, a flat shooting rifle zeroed at 200 or 300 years is best. Many bucks offer shots at these ranges, but big bucks which are hard to get close to usually present longer shots. The Ranches we hunt are managed for Trophy quality bucks. As a result, the ranches hold bucks which qualify for the SCI and B & C books. Comfortable ranch house accommodations await you for your 5-day 6 night hunt. The ranch house has hot water, an inside bathroom, and comfortable beds with limited electricity. We have internet to serve your outside communications.  A variety of outstanding Mexican dishes with a hint of Americanization will be served in the morning and evening with lunches to carry into the field. When the opportunity presents itself you may even head back for one of our cook’s wonderful noon-time soups and a quick siesta.  The guides, having worked as cowboys, have an excellent knowledge of the ranches. Their eyes and hunting ability are superb. They can accommodate many needs in this 1-on-1 relationship. As an option, maximize your hunting experience by having us provide one of our hard-working packers who can carry as much of your gear as you desire, allowing you to stay fresh throughout the hunt. Come hunt Pronghorn Antelope with PL Holehan’s Gone Huntin’ Outfitters. We hunt our Pronghorn Antelope Ranches primarily in Mideastern New Mexico at elevations between 4500 and 6500 feet. Some of our ranches will remind you of those wide-open, long-rolling hills of Wyoming. Others will show you a variety of plant life, such as juniper and oak. Don’t be surprised to find a big old buck in amongst a cholla patch and other high desert cacti. In this country, you may see mule deer, coyote, bobcats, foxes, and the occasional badger. On your three-day hunt, you will rarely be out of sight of Antelope. There will be one guide for two hunters. Our inclusive rights and good management practices give you the possibility of taking bucks which qualify for the SCI and B&C books. The average shot taken is between 150 and 300 yards, but come prepared for that occasional long shot at one of those big smart ole bucks. A no accommodation, 3 day, 2 on 1 guided hunt. You meet us at the gate before light and head out after dark. Roswell with many levels of accommodations is 60 miles south and Vaughn with minimal accommodations is 30 miles to the north.
